Also known as Plerandra elegantissima. With gorgeously textured greenery and deeply serrated leaflets, this plant boasts a copper or burgundy hue in its early stages, eventually transitioning to a rich green. Its juvenile leaves have more texture, while the adult leaves are more deeply lobed. Despite its potential to grow up to 6 feet, this plant is a slow grower, making it a perfect addition for indoor gardening. Native to the South Pacific and able to be planted year-round, false aralia can be grown outside in USDA zones 10 through 12 or as a houseplant anywhere as long as your home isn't too dry.
